Director of Revenue Management
Reports to: Senior Sales & Marketing Leadership Supervises: Reservations Team
Job Summary
The Director of Revenue Management is responsible for using data, forecasting, and yield management strategies to optimize financial performance while supporting the property's pricing approach and brand positioning. This role provides ongoing analytics, market insights, and reporting to keep the property competitively positioned, and works closely with sales, marketing, and reservations teams to drive results.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy & Pricing
- Develop and implement yield management strategies and provide selling direction to sales, reservations, and front office teams.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to align pricing, promotions, and revenue goals.
- Analyze the effectiveness of promotional programs and prepare rate analyses to ensure pricing aligns with business objectives.
- Manage online distribution partnerships and ensure rate parity across booking channels.
- Oversee rate loading, including negotiated, group, and promotional rates.
- Audit rate codes, group rate plans, and reservation accuracy.
Forecasting & Reporting
- Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts.
- Provide ongoing revenue analytics, pace reports, and performance metrics.
- Review market and competitive set reports on a regular cadence.
- Develop solutions to improve forecast accuracy.
- Compile reports on no-show reservations and other key data points to support future business planning.
Team Leadership
- Supervise the reservations team and conduct regular one-on-ones with direct reports.
- Lead weekly revenue meetings.
- Ensure ongoing staff training and quality standards are met.
- Keep the team informed of current offers, promotions, policies, and performance results.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
Systems & Technical
- Serve as a key operator for revenue management, property management, and central reservation systems.
- Continuously improve the electronic booking experience and audit the online booking engine.
- Ensure team members are fully trained on all relevant systems and functions.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in revenue management, preferably in luxury hospitality.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and revenue management, property management, and central reservation platforms.
- Solid understanding of yield management and forecasting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability with experience supervising and developing a team.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.
Preferred
- College degree.
- Bilingual (Spanish a plus).
- Experience with additional analytics, CRM, or sales tools.
Work Environment
On-site role at the property. Standard office environment with extended periods of focused desk work. Occasional movement throughout the property is expected.
